Cosmic Evolution Impressions on Lensing Maps

چکیده

I investigate through simulations the redshift dependence of several lensing measures for two cosmological models, a flat universe with a cosmological constant (ΛCDM), and an open universe (OCDM). I argue that quintessence models can be seen as an intermediate model between these two models under the weak gravitational lensing perspective. I calculate for the convergence field the angular power spectrum, the variance and higher order moments, the probability distribution function, and the Minkowski functionals. I find that in the redshift range examined (from z = 0.7 to z = 3 various statistics show an increase of the non-Gaussianity of the lensing maps for closer sources. Lensing surveys of higher redshift are expected to be less non-Gaussian than shallow ones because of the non-linear evolution of the density field, and the central limit theorem.

Separating the Weak Lensing and Kinetic Sunyaev-zeldovich Effects from Cosmic Microwave Background Temperature Maps

A new generation of cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments will soonmake sensitive high-resolution maps of the microwave sky. At angular scales less than 100, most CMB anisotropies are generated at z < 1000, rather than at the surface of last scattering. Therefore, these maps potentially contain an enormous amount of information about the evolution of structure. Whereas spectral informat...

Detectability of Gravitational Lensing Effect on the Two-point Correlation Function of Hotspots in the CMB maps

We present quantitative investigations of the weak lensing effect on the two-point correlation functions of local maxima (hotspots), ξpk−pk(θ), in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) maps. The lensing effect depends on the projected mass fluctuations between today and the redshift zrec ≈ 1100. If adopting the Gaussian assumption for the primordial temperature fluctuations field, the peak stat...

Beating Lensing Cosmic Variance with Galaxy Tomography

I discuss the use of cross correlations between galaxies with distance information and projected weak lensing dark matter maps to obtain a fully three dimensional dark matter map and power spectrum. On large scales l . 200 one expects the galaxies to be biased, but not stochastic. I show that this allows a simultaneous solution of the full 3-D evolving galaxy bias and the dark matter power spec...

The Far-infrared Background Correlation with Cmb Lensing

The intervening large–scale structure distorts cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies via gravitational lensing. The same large–scale structure, traced by dusty star–forming galaxies, also induces anisotropies in the far–infrared background (FIRB). We investigate the resulting inter–dependence of the FIRB and CMB with a halo model for the FIRB. In particular, we calculate the cross–corr...
